Filthy Fondo Hermon

Hermon promises to be all the fun you've become accustomed to at our Filthy Fondo Gravel Races. The race starts and finishes at the magnificent Kleinevalleij, at the foothills of Bains Kloof. From here the route follows a fast and flat course out to Hermon where you will cross the mighty Berg River and head back on some sublime Gravel Roads as you make your way back to Kleinevalleij.
There will be ice cold beverages and delicious meals on offer at Kleinevalleij, so be sure to stick around and cheer on your fellow Gravel Adventurers.
The Long Route will be approximately 80 kilometers, the Medium Route 45 kilometers, and the Short Route 25 kilometers.
Route safety notes:
For safety through Wellington, there will be a neutral zone from the start for each distance, with a lead out vehicle holding pace:
- Long route: Neutral zone lead out for first 10kms at 30km/h
- Medium&Short Route: Neutral zone lead out for first 6kms at 25km/h
There will therefore be a mass, rolling start for each distance.
Also:
The final 1km of each route is on farm roads with, 90 degree turns - and therefore minimal overtaking opportunities - so we recommend that if there is someone you're competing against, you get ahead of them before you turn off Bovlei Rd onto the farm!!
