A weekend at Glengarry for the Kamberg Classic

The Kamberg Classic is a well known annual event in KZN. Whilst many riders were waiting until the last minute before committing to the race, thanks to not being 100% sure as to whether it was a CSA sanctioned race or not this year, happily all turned out for the good.  Confirmation had riding families heading out in their numbers to take part in the race at the ever popular Glengarry Holiday Farm.

We arrived on Friday afternoon to find a well organised event well into its set up with most of the branding and race areas established.

Bumping into well known racing families is always a treat and this time was no exception. The Chiesman's, Kearley's and Smith's were quick to share their previous experiences camping at the resort - some that involved almost being washed away in heavy rains, but those stories all came with lots of laughter and a true sense of "a good time being had by all".

Saturday was a fun 3km or 5km ride mostly for the little guys and girls followed by the rugby on the big screen.

Bright and early on a beautiful sunshine Sunday morning the finishing touches were put together before the race briefing and starts. It's always fun to watch tomorrow's champions all kitted out in their riding gear and eager to get their 12km race underway and they did soon after the 45km and 25km riders left the startline.

Chatting to some of the riders after their 45 and 25km races it was evident that this was a great trail so hats must go off to the organisers.

In our ever changing world, it is not very often that we come across a venue with good old fashioned values. Glengarry Holiday Farm is certainly upholding those values and this weekend has been more enjoyable because of it. The attention to detail, willingness to help and general cleanliness cannot go unnoticed (we stayed in a chalet). The honesty bar and those delicious bread rolls get full marks! Well done and thank you Glengarry Holiday Farm for an awesome weekend and well organised Kamberg Classic.
