For this seasons opening race, riders took on the track… in reverse.

Riders started in the opposite direction and headed straight into Chanaman's, before following some more singletrack underneath the flyover bridge, then descending to the feed/tech zone and out onto the 2nd half of the course.
The 2nd half included a fast forest road section with a short singletrack decent back to the finish.
After the recent rain there were some muddy spots. There were no A/B lines, making this season’s opener course more a test of opening season fitness than technical ability. It all boiled down to tactics and smart racing.

The direction for the Nippers/Sprogs course was also switched up for the 1st race.
This gave a totally different feel to the route as the "up's" became "downs" and the "down's" became "up's"!
There was small rock descent that could either be ridden at pace or negotiated slower if need be.
Once exiting the River trail, the pace heated up as riders sped back to the start/finish.
