Sappi Karkloof Trail Festival

The Sappi Karkloof Trail Festival will take place at the Absa Karkloof Country Club on 24-25th of May 2025. The event saw a massive surge in competitors in 2024 and is aiming to make 2025 even bigger and better. The event is also SA Marathon Championships and the club is proud to be hosting this in 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Sunday the 25th May will be a day for the Marathon MTB riders, competing for the prestigious title of SA Marathon Champs, with MTB race distances ranging from 10km for the Fun Ride, right up to 85km for the strongest competitors. For the more fun-loving running crowd there will be a Fun Run.

Sappi Karkloof Trail Festival (Sunday)

The Sappi Karkloof Trail Festival will take place at the Absa Karkloof Country Club on 24-25th of May 2025. 85km MTB Entry

Compete in the 85km MTB ride. Participants are required to have an active Cycling South Africa (CSA) Membership. Visit www.cyclingsa-events.co.za to buy a CSA membership.

60km MTB Entry

Compete in the 60km MTB ride. Youth Champs will be held at the Karkloof SA MTB Youth Festival on 04-06th July 2025 and as such no racing category is available for this event. Youth are welcome to enter the event in any distance up to and including the 60km events, and enter under the open batch. Participants are required to have an active Cycling South Africa (CSA) Membership. Visit www.cyclingsa-events.co.za to buy a CSA membership.

40km MTB Entry

Compete in the 40km MTB ride. Participants are required to have an active Cycling South Africa (CSA) Membership. Visit www.cyclingsa-events.co.za to buy a CSA membership.

20km MTB Entry

Compete in the 20km MTB ride. Participants are required to have an active Cycling South Africa (CSA) Membership. Visit www.cyclingsa-events.co.za to buy a CSA membership.

MTB Fun Ride Entry

Compete in the 10km MTB Fun Ride.

Trail Fun Run Entry

Compete in the 9km Trail Fun Run

Event Dates & Times: 

Saturday, 24 May 2025: Trail Runs (21km, 15km, 9km) and Enduro (Full, E-Bike, Lite)

Sunday, 25 May 2025: Marathon MTB (85km, 60km, 40km, 20km, 10km Fun Ride) and 9km Fun Trail Run

Early Bird Closes: 8 April 2025 @09:00

Late Rate Starts: 17 May 2025 @09:00

Online Entries Close: 21 May 2025 @12:00

Please note: Late entries will be available on the day of the event at the Karkloof Country Club and the late entry price will apply.
